Over the course of its nearly four decade run, the Gold Panda series has enamored collectors of all ages. Its one-year only designs attract the attention of collectors with their beauty and originality. The series dates back to 1982 and made history in 2016 when it became the first gold coin series to be issued in metric units instead of imperial ones. This piece, which was struck from 30 g of .999 fine gold, is the successor to the 1 oz version. It was struck at the China Mint and will arrive in GEM Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Song Lina, a resident of northern China who has been studying Pandas for years, designed the reverse. It features a baby panda seated on the ground facing the holder. He is feeding himself bamboo leaves with his left front paw while grabbing more leaves from the tree above with his right one. The face value of the coin is inscribed to the left, while its weight and purity, "30 G AU .999," are inscribed along the rim above his head.
