One ounce of Britannia gold coin contains one troy ounce of pure gold and is produced annually by the Royal Mint. Since 2013, Britannia gold has a fineness of 999.9, compared to 0.916 (22 carats) produced previously. These coins are from 2014 and although the year may be different, they are all 24 carat coins.

Each 1 oz Britannia is printed with a "face value"; This one ounce coin is set at "£ 100", although the value is of course based on the market price of its metal content.

The 1 Oz Gold Britannia coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and the iconic Britannia on the reverse.
